ESTEHAALE
/metəˈmôrfÉ™sÉ™s/

The idea came from deeper observation of culturally constructed corporeal heritage one carries pre-reflexively. It aims to capture the contemporary spatial crisis, which is affecting dance features, especially in the context of countries with more space limitations; it navigates spectators to effective atmosphere that surrounds the movement quality.
'Estehaale' curatorial project, which has the meaning of metamorphosis in Persian language, was a result of 'Performance of Heritage' course at University of Roehampton. This project consisted of three parts, namely: an exhibition of Miniature paintings, which is one of the ancient Persian art-forms; an experimental movement based workshop, and a photo exhibition. The three parts were held in two separate spaces.
